Modern Slavery Policy
Financial Year Ending 31 December 2022

Policy Statement

This statement is made in accordance with Section 54, Part 6 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and outlines the steps One Contractors Group has taken during the past 12 months to mitigate the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking within our business operations and supply chain.
We acknowledge the prevalence of modern slavery as defined in the Act and are committed to playing our part in eradicating such practices within the construction industry. One Contractors Group strictly avoids working with organisations that fail to comply with the Modern Slavery Act.
Key actions we undertake include:
-
Ensuring all employees receive wages above the statutory minimum.
-
Prohibiting child labour and complying with minimum age laws.
-
Requiring all employees to be paid directly via bank transfer to prevent forced or coerced labour practices, disallowing payments to third-party accounts.
-
Providing dedicated carers and comprehensive support for employees who are mentally vulnerable.
-
Conducting thorough right-to-work checks for all employees, and where applicable, assisting them in securing the necessary visas or work permits.
-
Actively promoting employee welfare by encouraging the reporting of any wrongdoing, including instances of exploitation, through established reporting mechanisms.
Our commitment to these principles is reflected in our Employee Handbook, which addresses modern slavery, human trafficking, and exploitation. This document is available to all employees and can be provided to clients or potential clients upon request.

Supply Chain Overview
The construction industry often involves intricate supply chains, with multiple tiers separating the main contractor from raw material sources. To ensure human rights and modern slavery standards are upheld within our supply chain, we implement the following measures:

-
Supplier Prequalification
Potential supply chain partners must undergo a stringent prequalification process. This process has been updated to include questions regarding their policies and procedures on modern slavery and human trafficking. -
Commercial Agreements
All commercial agreements with suppliers and subcontractors explicitly require compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
By integrating these practices, we aim to foster ethical and transparent business relationships across all tiers of our operations.
